The Tecnosky Planet 102 is an exceptional value 4" refractor offering low cost with outstanding colour correction thanks to its high F11 focal ratio and ED glass. While longer than a typical 4" APO it is actually quite light at approx 4.6kg.

It features a lightweight aluminium tube including tube rings and a dovetail. The supplied focuser is a 2.5" Rack and Pinion type with 1:10 fine focusing which is compatible with our UXF motor focus.

A 100mm scope offers significant benefits in light gathering compared to smaller scopes and together with its excellent correction, the 102/1100 offers outstanding value as it provides performance equal to or better than triplet designs of the same aperture.

This highly corrected telescope is, as its name suggests, a perfect tool for planetary observation allowing for high magnifications with minimal interferance from seeing.

Another particularly good application for this telescope is as a solar telescope. It works well with White Light options like an EMC front mounted filter or Herschel Wedge. It is ideal for Calcium wavelengths using Calcium filters / wedges and particularly the Lunt CaK Module. With a simple internal ERF like the 35nm H-Alpha, it is also perfect for use with a quality rear mounted Etalon like the Solar Spectrum Sundancer as its F11 focal ratio becomes F33 allowing excellent on band H-Alpha performance.

The Tecnosky 102/700 FPL-53 Doublet represents something of a bargain in the 4" refractor class. The entry level FPL-51 version has always proved itself a popular beginners scope. With superior glass types and a quality 2.5" focuser, the 102 FPL-53 Doublet offers near perfect colour correction and is suited to to both observing and a wide range of imaging tasks. Its F7 focal ratio make it suitable for use as a solar scope when fitted with a suitable ERF and rear mounted etalon. The aluminium tube is fully baffled and fitted with a 2.5" Rack and Pinion focuser with 1:10 fine focusing.

The Tecnosky 102 represents an outstanding value scope for beginners or even seasoned astronomers. Its compact dimensions make it easy to transport. Its light weight does not place heavy demands on a mount. Its 102mm aperture minimises the effects of seeing yet it is large enough to gather significant light to see all but the faintest of objects. Its excellent colour correction also make it usuable at higher magnifications for planetary observing. It is truly an excellent multi-purpose scope at a very appealing price.

For imaging use we recommend use with either the 2.5" Flat FIeld Corrector or the APM M63 Reducer. The latter turns the scope into 525mm FL, F5.25 Astrograph. Our UXF motorised focuser kit is an ideal way to complete the imaging package.

Thanks to its compact size and low weight, the 102 works well with small manual mounts and medium sized EQ mounts.

The Tecnosky 115/800 is an excellent value Triplet Apochromat using an FPL-51 element. The design has proved itself capable of excellent results and offers very good value for money, being equally suited for observing or imaging. The aluminium tube is fully baffled and now fitted with a 2.5" Rack and Pinion focuser with 1:10 fine focusing.

Thanks to its compact size and low weight, the 115 works well with small manual mounts and medium sized EQ mounts.

As with all telescopes supplied by Astrograph, the 115/800 is supplied only after careful inspection and being fully aligned and tested.

General Specifications

The Tecnosky 90/560 OWL is a new apochromatic refractor based on a triplet featuring Ohara FPL-55 Super ED glass, blackened lens edges and blue-violet FMC anti-reflective treatment. The tube is made of aluminum with retractable lens hood and internal baffles.

The focuser is a 2.5" precision rack and pinion focuser with 1:10 micro focusing. It is both zero tilt rotation on the main focuser to tube coupling and a seperate rotator on the end of the drawtube. The draw tube features a twist lock 2" clamp with seperate 1.25" self centering adapter. This adapter, if fully unscrewed, also features a T2 thread. With the twist lock adapter removed, the tube end features an M63 femal thread for use with appropriate correctors. The focuser is fully compatible with our UXF Motor Focus

The ring design allow the use of Vixen or Losmandy plates. As supplied the 90/560 includes a 240mm Viven plate which can extend past the focuser. This allows easy balancing when used with camera loads.

Above the rings is a convenient handle using the Vixen format. All the plates and sides of the rings feature threaded holes for mounting of accessories.

The telescope is supplied with a flightcase.

All Tecnosky OWL series telescopes are supplied with an Optical test report offering a gauranteed minimum strehl of 0.95. The test is serial number linked and is marked on the test, our own QC sheet and the inside of the dew cap.

The Tecnosky 125/975 FPL-53 'OWL' Specification Doublet is a bargain in the 5" refractor class. With FPL-53 Super ED glass and a quality 2.5" focuser, the 125 FPL-53 Doublet offers excellent colour correction and is suited to to both observing and a wide range of imaging tasks. The latest OWL varient builds on the success of the original 125 through improved mechanics and a tested optical cell. The optics are gauranteed to offer a minimum 0.95 strehl in the Green / Orange wavelengths and are supplied with a test report.

A F7.8 focal ratio make it suitable for use as a solar scope when fitted with a suitable ERF and rear mounted etalon, thus resulting in an ideal F31.2 when used with a 4x Telescentric. The aluminium tube is fully baffled and fitted with a 2.5" Rack and Pinion focuser with 1:10 fine focusing. The latest OWL versions focuser features several updates with the addition of a second rotation option.

Tecnosky's latest 130mm Apochromatic Refractor uses a combination of FPL-53 Super Low Dispersion Glass and Lanthanum coated elements to provide a very high degree of correction. The lens cell is also more thermally optimised to provide more consistant performance over a range of temperatures.

Each Tecnosky 130mm F7 'OWL' specification refractor is supplied with an Interferometer test and gauranteed to offer a strehl rating of at least 0.95.

The telescope tube features a matt black coating and is knife edge baffled to maximise contrast. The supplied 3.7" focuser has 1:10 micro focusing and a 7kg load capacity. It also features a stepped thread arrangement allowing connection of M100, M92, M82 and M68 accessories

The tube also features a removable extension. This permits use with larger reducers or large bino viewers without the need for glass path correctors.

Overall the Tecnosky 130 OWL offers excellent value and is ideal as both a visual and imaging telescope. Its optics and mechanics are very high quality which are gauranteed through certification.

The new Tecnosky 152/1216 offers exceptional value by using the proven triplet format and combining it with FPL-51 Glass and Lanthanum coated elements. Thanks to these low / high-dispersion glasses, the color correction is excellent even on very bright objects.

The 152 also boasts a new, thermally stable cell and a lighter and more compact tube. Total weight is only 14kg. The tube internals are perfectly matted and feature knife edge baffles to eliminate reflections. At the end of the tube there is a 3.7" focuser which offers a maximum capacity of 7kg. The focuser can rotate with respect to the tube but it also has a second rotator at the focuser end and 3 different threads for correctors and other accessories. (M100x1, M92x1, M68x1 and M63x1). Unscrewing the extension between the tube and the focuser also allows large binoviewers to be used without the need for glass path correctors. Also featured on the focuser are self-centering 1.25" and 2" eyepiece clamps. The 2" features a twist lock system for rapid swapping of accessories.

The telescope is compatible with various correctors. For pure correction either the 2.5" Flattener or the APM-Riccardi Model 2 can be used. For reduction, combined with removal of the extension tube, we recommend the APM-Riccardi M63 or M82 Reducers. Together with motor focus kits from either Lunatico or Optec, this 152 is an excellent value imaging telescope.

A 152mm Apochromatic Refractor has always been desired by every amateur astronomer: Amazing views of the Moon, planets, double stars and deep sky objects. The Tecnosky 152/1216 is also great for Astrophotography offering high resolution and relatively wide fields of view, especially when used with a reducer. In short it is a great all round telescope which until now has attracted a premium price.

Included with the telescope is a finder base, CNC rings, a Losmandy mounting plate and a top mounted Vixen/GP type that may be used for accessories.

Tecnosky has developed a large 210mm (204mm Clear Aperture) short-focus achromatic refractor for wide field deep-sky observation and photography in narrow band, including solar.

The lens is composed of an air spaced doublet with multi-layer anti-reflection coatings; the lenses are housed in an aluminum collimatable cell. The tube is made in Italy, from anti-corroding 3mm aluminum and is fitted with internal baffles. The focuser is a smooth 2.7" from Tecnosky.

The tube is different in not having tube rings. Instead, it uses two strong (but lighter) crescents linked to a long bar Geoptik Losmandy. The total weight of the instrument is only 17kg.

Testing has confirmed a good overall optical correction for such a low F ratio Achromat with a very good manageable chromaticism of the Moon and planets using a Baader Semi Apo filter. Despite being a telescope for use at medium / low magnification of deep-sky objects, detailed close up views of solar system objects are quite possible.

Due to its low focal ratio the 210 is also well suited to imaging of Narrowband Deep Sky objects.

The 210 is also very suitable for use as a giant H-alpha telescope, using rear mounted filters from PST etalons upwards. An example image using a PST taking with the scope is shown above. To aid Solar use, we can provide an internally mounted 75mm Baader D-ERF with integral cell designed to be mounted directly on the front of the focuser. Tecnosky has developed a large 234mm (224mm Clear Aperture) long focus achromatic refractor for wide field deep-sky observation and photography in narrow band, including solar.

The lens is composed of an air spaced doublet with multi-layer anti-reflection coatings; the lenses are housed in an aluminum collimatable cell. The tube is made in Italy, from anti-corroding 3mm aluminum and is fitted with internal baffles. The focuser is a smooth 2.7" from Tecnosky. Total weight including the supplied Losmandy dovetail is only 27kg.

Tests have confirmed very good global optical correction and a very modest chromaticity that permits high resolution observation on the Moon, Planets and Double Stars. Observation on Saturn and the Moon at over 300x produced good image quality and typical of that expected from a refractor.

On deep sky targets it provides very bright images, like an good 30cm reflector, but with a much higher contrast and sharpness. For example, M13 explodes in an infinity of tiny stars even at low magnifications.

This refractor is very well suited for solar applications. For H-Alpha use we can offer a 235mm front mounted ERF for ultimate performance or a special cell to allow a Baader 75mm DERF to be mounted internally. An example of this in combination with a PST etalon can be seen above.
