The QHY268M is the baby brother to the extreme QHY600M. Its IMX571 sensor featuring similar technology in the smaller APS-C format. Like the IMX455, the 571 is back illuminated (increased sensitivity and no residual bulk image) and natively 16bit for wide dynamic range. The small 3.76µm pixels provide high resolution and are well matched to shorter focal lengths scopes typically used for wide field imaging. Its physical format also make it an ideal combination for use with FASTAR equipped SCT's and the latest RASA systems.
Combined with zero amp glow and a heated chamber window, the QHY268M is the state of the art in performance for the APS-C format.
As with all QHY Mono cameras, the QHY268M features a dedicated connector for driving a QHY filter wheel.
Short Back Focus
The QHY268M features a very short back focus design of only 12.5mm. This allows a QHY filter wheel to be bolted directly to the face of the camera. This feature allows systems needing 55mm back focus to be created that include a QHY filter wheel AND Off Axis Guider. It also permits you to use Camera lens based systems as short as 44mm with a filter wheel (but no OAG). See the above images for examples of connectivity.
