The excellent 178M is now end of line

The QHY5III178 series uses the new 6.0 Megapixel IMX178 STARVIS Exmor R back-illuminated CMOS sensor. Available in both color and monochrome.

With its small 2.4µm pixels and 1/1.8-inch sensor size, the monochrome QHY5III178M is a superb guiding camera due to its advantages in resolution and wide FOV. The extraordinary sensitivity of the STARVIS Exmor sensor (STARVIS is Sony's designation for sensors that can record real time video in starlight), mean that even in areas with few stars, choosing a suitable one for guiding is no problem. This makes the camera especially suitable for use with an OAG.

The wide field of view available from the large 1/1.8" sensor also make it very useful for use with spectroscopes like the Shelyak Alpy etc where this aids in target location.

With a frame rate of up to 190FPS when used at an ROI of 764x512, the IMX178 is also an excellent choice for planetary imaging, particularly with faint targets.
