Description
The new APM Super-Zoom eyepiece is a modern development allowing multiple fields of view / magnifications from a single eyepiece. Great emphasis has been placed on excellent optical and mechanical quality as well as optimised ergonomics. The optics have excellent resolution and contrast values as well as a sharp image all the way to the edge of the large apparent field of view. This eyepiece can be considered to be every bit as good as prime eyepieces within its focal length range.
The conical eye shape, slim body, high eye relief and the integrated thread for the Tele Vue Dioptrix make the APM Super Zoom an ideal eyepiece for all applications and users. There is almost no need to refocus when changing magnification and you can now zoom in on your favorite objects without losing image quality.
The wide focal length range allows the use on a wide variety of instruments, whether a compact Apo or on a large Dobsonian. Tests of the eyepiece have been made on a 20" F/3.6 Dobsonian. It has shown an impressive performance up to the edge. This means we can recommend this eyepiece also for very fast telescopes with no effect of field flatness.
Adjustment of the Zoom focal length is via precise clickstop
All optical components are of course modern multi-coated with blackened lens edges. The pupil distance (eye relief) is between 18 and 20mm, so it is very user-friendly. The maximum Ø of 56mm also allows the use on a binocular attachment. Our APM Super-Zoom eyepiece is a premium optical product offering outtanding value.
Often the nature of a Zoom eyepice will require a different focus position. As a reference, if a telescope is focused with a Tele Vue Ethos 13 mm, the APM Super Zoom must be moved 12 mm further in. For this reason the Super Zoom cannot be used with APM Giant Binoculars.
