Baader 40mm SkySurfer V Red Dot Finder
This is a large aperture, premium quality, lightweight aluminum red dot finder, with bases to fit almost any telescope.
Supplied with Dew Caps/Lens Shades and captive protective end caps. The Sky Surfer V is constructed mostly of metal. This red dot finder is definitely built to last! The Sky Surfer V is based on a robust model from the military, which is offered in field sports stores at twice the price – but with much poorer performance (from an astronomical point of view!). Baader have "demilitarized“ it and optimized it for astronomy. The main improvements are;
• The typical, red shimmering coating has been replaced by an astronomical coating, allowing even faint stars to be seen.
• All glass surfaces are coated to increase the transmission of light.
• You can attach 40mm long dew caps at both sides to prevent fogging of the glass surfaces.
• The red dot sight can be adjusted to a very low brightness. This way it does not dazzle at night.
• All optical surfaces are made of high quality glass. The red-dot-finder is sealed watertight by O-rings.
• The dust caps can also be used as a Solar FInder (WITH CAUTION - Please read the instructions fully first!)
This is an excellent allround finder that comes highly recommended.
