Field Flatteners

Field Flatteners

A Field Flattener as its name implies changes the normal curved focal plane produced by a telescope to a flat one so that all corners of a camera sensor are in focus. Different field correctors are needed for different telescope types and also for the size of the flat field your camera sensor needs. A field flattener does not alter focal length or change the native F ratio normally as they are 1.0x magnification. Some types are 0.95x.
