Dispersion Correctors

The atmosphere acts like a prism, dispersing light of different wavelengths by different amounts. For high resolution planetary imaging and observing this is an issue as it produces red and blue halos around objects. Dispersion also affects the scale and clarity of an object. A dispersion corrector uses two prisms to counter the effects of dispersion leading to sharper, higher contrast images.
